When to ACT After your patients brush with a fluoride toothpaste and floss, it’s time for them to ACT. It’s recommended to swish for one minute with 10 mL, which is equal to about 2 teaspoonfuls. When using any flavor of ACT Fluoride Rinse, your patients can get the right amount every time by using the Exact Dosage Meter. With 18 or 33 oz bottles of ACT Restoring™ Mouthwashes, they can simply pour the mouthwash into the cap provided to measure out the right amount. Remind your patients to always use ACT Rinse after brushing and flossing in order to make certain that they don’t rinse away any of the essential fluoride.
How Often to ACT When your patients use any of ACT’s rinses or mouthwashes, they should always refer to the usage directions listed on the product’s labeling to confirm the usage frequency recommended for their product. All ACT rinses and mouthwashes in 18 oz bottles or less, use 1x per day. For Restoring Mouthwashes in 33 oz bottles, use 2x per day.
Children and ACT
Maintaining children’s teeth and gums go hand-in-hand with ACT. However, children should be supervised as necessary until they are capable of using without adult supervision. Children under 12 should be instructed in good rinsing habits to minimize swallowing. ACT is not recommended for children under the age of 6 unless directed by a dentist or a doctor.
